The E Series is our newest series of desks. This series is the culmination of a 7 year effort to develop a lower priced version of our JS Series desks, without incurring significant trade offs in performance or quality. We achieved this in several ways. The desks are made from oak only, and feature a simpler design with fewer parts. The remaining components have been re-designed to use less material, and optimized to produce less scrap. More efficient use of labor is made with computerized machinery.
Our goals for the E Series also included a "green" replacement for the polyurethane varnish used on the JS Series. We found this in Tung oil. Unlike other oxidizing oils, Tung oil does not yellow with age and dries hard. Is easy to re-new without stripping, and needs only occasional waxing.
The use of dual monitors makes an economical sit or stand up desk possible. Otherwise an expensive monitor raising devise must be employed. Most newer PC operating systems allow the use of dual monitors. To go from sitting to standing, simply slide the keyboarding surface out, and reposition it in the standing position. This takes about 15 seconds, and requires no tools. A wireless keyboard and mouse make moving the keyboarding surface between sitting and standing desk positions quick & easy.
The Model 33ES is our smallest and least expensive Sit or Stand desk. It can be used as a companion to a larger, traditional desk, or is a good choice if your available space or budget is limited.
